Great Ronnie Coleman Bodybuilder- 3rd Position in The Bodybuilding world

Great Ronnie Coleman Bodybuilder- 3rd Position in The Bodybuilding world

If you know anything about bodybuilding you know who Ronnie Coleman is. He is quite simply the scariest looking human being to ever live. Standing 5'11 (reportedly, I have heard first hand accounts of him being no more than 5'9) and weighing 280-300 pounds on stage, he was simply a wonder to behold. Ronnie won eight consecutive Mr. Olympia titles (1998-2005) thoroughly dominating the sport during his reign. While most bodybuilders of years past had certain body parts that were spectacular, they usually had average development in other areas... Coleman was the first (and only) to be massive and exhibit borderline obscene development everywhere.

Most great champions end up losing to someone who is simply bigger and badder than them. That did not happen to Ronnie. He is still the biggest bodybuilder to ever grace the stage. Yes, there have been men who weighed slightly more (they were taller) but no human has ever been muscularly larger than Ronnie Coleman. That alone is enough to anoint him near the top of this list. Fact is, that given my understanding of the human body, I am not sure that anyone can eclipse Coleman on sheer muscularity. Just take a look at the guy... it is literally unbelievable that he is human.

Arnold Schwarzenegger - First Position In The Bodybuilding World

Bodybuilder Arnold Schwarzenegger - First Position In The Bodybuilding World history.

The Greatest Ever. I need not explain why Arnold is the greatest bodybuilder of all time. Without him the sport would still be something that only gym rats would know about. When you think bodybuilding, he is front and center standing in front of everyone. Arnold IS bodybuilding and bodybuilding IS Arnold. Arnold's exploits have been celebrated on this site before for obvious reasons. He is the greatest man alive and that is not hyperbole. No one has accomplished more and been more masculine in doing so.

He won the Mr. Olympia contest seven times and would have won it 12 or 13 times had he competed in the late 1970s. Turns out he was too busy making himself into America's most successful and powerful immigrant. He used bodybuilding as a launching pad for the most impressive life in modern American history.

The superlatives to describe Arnold could shut down my servers. Arnold, for intents and purposes, invented the modern sport of bodybuilding. Before Arnold, the sport existed in the eyes of gym rats and homosexual muscle worshippers. By 1980, the year of his last competition, everyone knew what bodybuilding was. Arnold literally changed the landscape of the American way of life.

Prior to Arnold very few people lifted weights. It was seen as a fringe activity. Now... 75 year old women rehabbing from injuries use resistance training and Arnold was the driving force behind this paradigm shift in our society.

Dorian Yates bodybuilder -World second position of Bodybuilding world

Dorian Yates bodybuilder -World second position of Bodybuilding world History

I will admit, without shame, that Dorian Yates is my favorite bodybuilder. Dorian won the Mr. Olympia six consecutive years (1992-1997) before a string of devastating injuries forced him to retire from the sport. Before the 1997 Mr. Olympia contest, Dorian tore his bicep and tricep and announced his retirement almost immediately after winning the contest. He was noted for his Viking Berserker workout intensity and his quiet demeanor. Unlike 99% of the men in the pro ranks, he was not in it for the money or attention, he simply came, saw and conquered and immediately went home to England.

Dorian was the first pro to push the limits of growth hormone use. His predecessor, Lee Haney, looked normal by comparison. Yates revolutionized the sport, he was 20-30 lbs larger than Haney on stage and significantly harder. Without question, Yates was on another level in terms of drug use which is, of course, to be applauded. Dorian was the first "inhuman" looking bodybuilder. His back, hamstrings and calves were without peer. Proportionately his arms were smaller than many of the champions before or after him. His trademarks were insane hardness and his pose from the back. His top weight on stage was around 270 which is a bit smaller than Coleman but I will maintain that Yates at his peak was superior to Coleman at his peak. That is obviously biased but I'm Arthur so my opinion counts for twenty of yours.
